Would you like to get some practical experience and tools to become a peacebuilder? And you’d love to come together with like minded people over summer and dive into this topic and the mediterranean sea? Than join Peace Power, train your peacebuilding musscles and learn, work and have fun in Thessaloniki, the 2nd city of Greece!
The aim of “Peace Power” is to actively involve youth world wide in developing systemic, cultural and direct practices to change the current direction of destruction to one of peace & nonviolence to all beings and the planet, based on the understanding that our survival and well-being is inter-connected.
Participants of Peace Power will:
- gain practical skills to become effective peacebuilders in their local communities, as well as internationally;
- gain knowledge and understanding of the necessary elements of developing a culture of peace and nonviolence;
- immerse themselves in volunteering to get hands-on working experience;
- get diverse input and inspiration from people that have different backgrounds, thereby expanding their capability to look at things from different angles and appreciate differences.
The program starts July 26, with an introduction weekend from Friday-Sunday. Participants will volunteer four days a week with different organistions in the city and follow workshops every Friday. The workshops will be on: August 2-9-16 and 23rd. The 24th of August will be the last day of the program.
