The aim of “Peace Power” is to actively involve youth world wide in developing systemic, cultural and direct practices to change the current direction of destruction to one of peace & nonviolence to all beings and the planet, based on the understanding that our survival and well-being is inter-connected.
Participants of Peace Power will:
- gain practical skills to become effective peacebuilders in their local communities, as well as internationally;
- gain knowledge and understanding of the necessary elements of developing a culture of peace and nonviolence;
- immerse themselves in volunteering to get hands-on working experience;
- get diverse input and inspiration from people that have different backgrounds, thereby expanding their capability to look at things from different angles and appreciate differences.
The program starts with four days of workshops. The following three weeksn participants volunteer with different organistions in the city four days a week and attend workshops every Friday.
Participants volunteer at a local organisation in Thessaloniki, of which they receive information after selection.
